The project included a jetty and a mechanised unloading system, with a capacity of 2,500 TPH of coal, to service Panamax bulk carriers up to 85,000 DWT.
The project required the following marine works, designed by PRDW:
- A platform for two fixed 1,500 TPH loaders (each)
- Mooring dolphins
- Berthing dolphins
- Hoppers
- Support structures
- Transfer towers
- Access trestle 1,080m in length.
Further engineering input from PRDW included:
- Analysis and definition of marine terminal layout.
- Study of natural coastal conditions.
- Study of wave climate and wave penetration to the berth site.
- Numerical model of vessel berthing motion.
- Study of Jetty operational availability (downtime).
- Technical support in the construction stage.
PRDW was also responsible for, supervised and coordinated the geotechnical studies and the oceanographic measurements.
