The project considered the design of a bulk unloading terminal (mainly coal) for 6MTPA. The terminal consists of a pier and two unloading cranes of 2,250 TPH capacity, for 80,000 DWT Panamax vessels.
The project included the design of a platform for three fixed unloader cranes of 900TPH free digging each, mooring dolphins , access trestle, buoys, and a mechanized system composed of chutes and tubular conveyor belts with a nominal capacity of 2,250 TPH.
The project also considered land works such as a mechanized system for the coal delivery in the storage zone of the main building, the electrical installations and instrumentation projects, powder mitigation systems, counter fire systems, administrative buildings and facilities, etc.
PRDW was also responsible for the study of the design wave conditions and the numerical modeling of ship at berth dynamics. PRDW supervised, checked and coordinated the studies of manoeuvrability, soils mechanics and oceanographic field measurements.
