Malaysia Iron Ore Jetty

The main jetty forms the main entry and exit points for all material imported and exported from the Vale Malaysia Manufacturing Project including iron ore, sinter pellets, blast furnace pellets and certain pelletizing plant additives.

A joint venture between BAM, McConnell Dowell and SYS (BMS-JV) had been awarded the EPC Contract for the design and construction of Phase 1a of the marine works for the main jetty.

Murray & Roberts Marine(MRM) were requested to provide Vale with a conceptual design (FEL3) for Phases 1b, 2 and 3 of the Marine Works for the main jetty.  PRDW performed the design portion of this study for MRM, taking into account the Phase 1a  FEL 3 Study as well as the BMS-JV specifications, design reports and drawings issued for the Phase 1a of the project.

  • Minor Export Wharf A
  • The combined Transfer Platform and the associated Tug Wharfs.

The FEL 3 study included the following elements:

  • Minor Export Wharf C
  • North side Conveyor Trestle (Similar to South Conveyor Trestle)
  • Major Import Wharf 3 (Extension to Major Import Wharf 2)
